Walmart...

Last week when shopping at Walmart they had several Kellogg cereals for only 2.00. Sad to say they went up to 2.33 this week. Wish I had cashed in on that deal. I know it's only .33 a box but I have a big family and will buy at least 6-8 boxes. That is about 2.50 more than I would have spent last week. If I do that too much it really hits my grocery bill.

I also am sorry to say that I can't always count on Walmart having the best prices overall anymore. I have noticed their prices have increased anywhere from .19 to .49 or more per item. That sounds like a little but it adds up quickly.

Tonight I went to Target and Walmart to do a little shopping. One item I needed was a toothbrush. I wanted to get a Colgate MaxFresh with my coupon. At Target they were priced at 2.54. I decided to hold off thinking Walmart would be less. Walmart's price was 2.88. I couldn't believe it. Good old Walmart was more expensive than Target.

Also I had some $1 off Skintimate coupons I wanted to use. Macey's has them on sale for 1.88 each. I thought Walmart would be the same or maybe even less. Again Walmart was out priced. Their regular price was around 2.25.

Dial hand soap. Albertson's had them on sale for 1.00 but was out so I thought I would pick some up at Walmart. Walmart's price was 1.19. I of course had them price match on all these items.

So be aware what you spend. If I don't have time to price match and shop smart I will always shop at Walmart because they do have overall good prices. I know I can get a better price than the grocery store. But Walmart is no longer as big of a discount as they used to be. I love getting a great deal with price matching and coupons.
