Recipe Rut! You could WIN this Apron!

I am in a recipe rut.  Do you ever feel like you keep making the same meals because your mind can't think of something else to make?  Well that is where I am stuck right now.  I don't like making new recipes unless it is recommend by someone to me.  So here is my bribery to get you to share some of your favorite recipes with me.

  • There is no limit as to how many times you enter this giveaway
  • For each recipe you submit your name will be entered in to a drawing to win this darling apron
    • Here is what I am looking for in recipes you submit:
      • Yummy!  You have to have tried it, like it and be willing to recommend it.
      • Easy.  Of course it may have a few steps necessary but please no tedious all-day recipes
      • You can submit any kind of recipe you like but I am hoping for an emphasis on Main Dish, Side Dish, Salads or Freezer Meals.  
      • Bonus: If you enter a tried and true freezer meal you will get two entries for each freezer meal recipe.
    So start submitting those recipes! You can simply add them in a comment to this post or email them to me.  amys_deals@yahoo.com

    1. Not sure this counts as a recipe -- Put any kind of meat in your crock pot and pour a bottle of BBQ sauce on top and cook for about 5 hours. Serve with noodles or rice!!!

      I call it "GOOLOSH"

      1/2 lb bacon to 1 lb
      1 lb elbow macaroni
      2 cans of your favorite spaghetti sauce
      1 yellow bell pepper
      1 red bell pepper
      1 onion
      Cook pasta and drain, put back in same pot add sauce. Cit bacon 1/2"pieces. Fry bacon until about 3/4 done (not crispy) Save oil for veggies. Chop and cook peppers and onion till tender.Add to pasta including oil, Simmer for about 1/2 hour. Great for freezing! Add a salad and enjoy!

    3. Something New For Hoagi Sandwiches!
      Cut and butter hoagi rolls,Toast under broiler,spread with mayo and refried beans, add pre cooked chicken breast,cheese of choice, heat in microwave about 15 sec. Add
      lettuce, tomatoe, avocado,etc.
      Its wonderful with the beans!Can be made with any meat!

    4. Easy Day Freezer Casserole
      7 oz.cooked elbow macaroni
      1 can celery soup
      1 can mushroom soup
      4 oz sliced mushrooms
      1 small onion, chopped
      2 cups milk
      1/2 lb Velveeta cheese diced
      2 c. ham, chicken or turkey (cooked and chopped)
      1 can sliced water chestnuts
      salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste
      Combine all ingredients. Place in buttered 3 quart or 9x13 pan. Cover with foil and freeze until needed. Thaw and preheat oven to 350. Bake one hour, serves 8.

    5. ok here is a real one.

      Crock-pot-lasagna

      1 lb. ground beef
      1 large onion, chopped
      2 garlic cloves, minced 1 large can tomato sauce
      1 large bottle of spaghetti sauce. 1 (8oz) pkg lasagna noodles
      4 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
      1 1/2 cups cottage cheese
      1/2 cup grated parmesan

      Cook beef, onion and garlic until no longer pink. Drain. and tomato sauce and bottle of spaghetti sauce and mix well. Spread 1/4 mixtures meat sauce in bottom of crock-pot. Arrange uncooked noodles over sauce. Combine cheeses and put 1/3 over noodles. Repeat 2 more like layers. Top with remaining meat sauce. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours, or until noodles are tender.

      I love that you don't have to cook the noodles first and that I can make it and go to church and come home and it is ready. My kids love it.

      Cinnamon Apple French Toast Bake

      1 1/2 loaf/lb. Cinnamon Bread - cut into cubes
      or regular bread if you don't have
      cinnamon
      1 21 oz. can apple pie filling (I used 1
      quart of my own bottled apple pie
      filling
      8 oz. cream cheese, cut into cubes
      8 eggs
      1 3/4 C. half and half
      4 Tablespoons maple syrup
      1 teaspoon cinnamon

      1- spray 9X13 pan with pam spray. Place half of bread cubes in bottom of pan.
      2- Spread apple pie filling over bread cubes in pan.
      3- Sprinkle cream cheese cubes over apple pie
      filling.
      4- Top filling with remaining bread cubes.
      5- In small bowl mix eggs, half and half,
      maple syrup and cinnamon; pour over bread
      cubes in 9X13 pan. Cover pan and put in
      fridge overnight.
      6- Remove from fridge 30 minutes before baking
      7- Remove covering and bake uncovered at
      350 degrees for 40-45 minutes, until
      golden brown (depends on your oven, so
      could be longer or shorter-watch carefully)
      8- Allow to sit for 15 minutes before serving
      9- Drizzle with maple syrup!

    7. "Anaheim Enchiladas"
      Kids love this because it's not spicy
      corn tortillas
      1 Lg.can green enchilada sauce
      1 16oz sour cream
      1 sm can cream of chicken soup
      1 sm can of cream of mushroom soup
      1 Lg can anaheim green chilies
      1 Lg bag of shredded cheddar cheese
      4 chicken breasts
      Cook chicken
      mix together-green enchilada sauce, sour cream and both soups
      dice green chilies and chicken,add to mixture
      oil a 9 x 11 pan, layer tortillas then mixture then cheese repeat until pan is full ending with cheese
      Bake @ 350 until heated about 20-30 min.
      Double the batch and freeze one for later in the month! Add spanish rice!
      You will love It!

    8. Potatoe Ham Casserole

      1 Can chicken soup
      8 oz sour cream
      1/4 0nions chopped or grated
      1/4 cup butter
      2 lbs. potatoes peeled and chopped
      2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
      1-2 cups of pre seasoned stuffing mix
      2 cups cubed ham
      Saute onion in butter in large fry pan. Stir in potatoes,soup, sour cream, ham and cheddar cheese.Mix until well combined. Place in a 9x13 casserole dish and bake 350 for 30 minutes, sprinkle with stuffing mix and cook 10-15 minutes until potatoes are tender.Can be frozen.My family likes it for breakfast with scrambled eggs and biscuits!

    9. Fish Tacos:

      fish - tilapia is my favorite, but halibut and salmon is listed as well
      paprika
      Salt
      Pepper
      Garlic powder
      cayenne pepper (if you like spice)
      taco fixings

      Line pan w/ foil. Sprinkle spices generously over fish. The more the better. Bake @500 degrees for 5-10 minutes, or until fish flakes away easily. We love to fill our tortillas with fresh pico de gallo, lettuce, cheese, and avacado. Super fast and yummy!!
